PALMETTO HERITAGE FESTIVAL
ANNUAL EVENT IN PALMETTO< FLORIDA HELD 2ND SATURDAY IN MARCH
This is the one day a year that our 1880 Heritage Station is a working post office! All outgoing mail gets a special commemorative cancellation designed by a local artist. Free crafts, face painting, fun activities and exhibits.
On Saturday, March 17th, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, Palmetto will celebrate women during Heritage Festival at Palmetto Historical Park & Manatee County Agricultural Museum, 515 10th Ave. West, Palmetto. This free event will feature a park open house, musical entertainment, children’s activities, heritage crafts demonstrations such as broom and basket making, chair caning, and quilting. The Palmetto High School FFA will have their petting goats in the corral and the North River Fire Department will present the Children’s Firefighter Challenge.
A special feature of Heritage Day is the Women of North River art show, highlighting the artistic talents of Manatee County women who live north of the Manatee River. The Manatee County Health Department and the Women’s Resource Center will be on site with information on women’s health and social services. Blood pressure screenings will be a part of the offerings. The Early Learning Coalition will be providing car seat check-ups as well as distributing booster seats and cars seats to families who cannot afford them at low or no cost.
